Photo shots

While on a trip to eastern Nebraska in May, I drove up to Minnesota, to the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. They have a drive and trails to walk, great place. Because of the time limit I had, I did the wildlife trail drive. I was very lucky, had a chance to take lots of pics and the wildlife showed up to make it a great time. With photography as most of you know, sometimes you have to be lucky. I shoot with a Z8 Nikon and the lenses 600 fixed, also had a 70-300 Tamron with me. This time I only had one camera, it is a lot more fun to shoot with 2 cameras. The day was cloudy and did clear towards the early afternoon. The Sandhill Crane family was a good find but the big snapping turtle was the find of the trip. It was crossing the road and I was about 30 yards away, I thought it was something else, like a raccoon, I grabbed the camera to take a look and moved my car a short distance and started taking pictures. I only captured a couple before the turtle crossed the road and was gone....still very exciting.
